Thoughts on The Day

Today was very busy for the game consultants as well as myself. The time went by fast for all of us.
We started off reviewing the games we had and searching for new games. I got some information about the different genres and each consultant reviewed a few and then shared highlights with the others. That didn't go as well as I thought it would. They didn't really want to share or listen to each other. They did try though.
Each student searched for at least two games that they thought we should add to our catalog. Once they found them they wrote an explanation as to why that game should be in our game library. I think they enjoyed defending their decision. They took it seriously and paid attention to what we had and what we need.
We also discussed recommendations for others interested in creating a game library and the top ten things a game developer needs to know when creating a game. These discussions went well.
The consultants tend to want to agree on everything before we can write the idea down. I thought that was interesting. It is not something they say but they try to talk each other into agreeing with the same ideas. There are disagreements and if it was one against four, they cancelled the other idea. In the end it all turned out fine and they were excited with the ideas they came up with.
We had very little game play today. I think the consultants did very well considering they were thinking and writing for most of the day. Although they are not always easy to deal with, they do put effort into what is asked of them.
