Review of the Day - June 13

Today was "no traditional controller" day. There were 4 stations set up a time. The stations included Eye Toy, Guitar Hero and Taiko Drum Master, Donkey Konga, Mario Party 7, the Santa game, and Flight Simulator. Each station was played at for 30 minutes. Mostly the consultants worked in pairs, for some such as the Santa game and Flight Simulator they worked individually.

We had lunch with the Game Developers from the department. The consultants were excited about that. At the end of the day most of them listed that as the most exciting part of the day. A couple of them were most excited about using all of the different controls. Their arms at times were tired but they could play like that "all day forever", they said.

There was a lot less wandering around today. They stayed pretty interested for each 30-minute station. They worked in groups to create a game around a peripheral of their choice. It was interesting to watch them do it. Some were very into drawing and having a lot detail and some cared more about making a huge game with all sorts of options. They also mentioned being excited to share their ides with the Game Developers and getting feedback from them.

*Note to self..."What do I do next?" "What are we going to do now?" "Can I do this? Can I do that?"...This age group wants to stay busy. I am sure being boys at this age has something to do with it also. They need constant activity and food.

The boys really kept up today. I had promised open game play till the end of the day when we were given one last assignment. They did it though and came up with some great ideas.
