Group Dynamic

The group this session has been more challenging than the others. The kids are not bad or out of control but they are not as easy to deal with. They almost seem to be less interested in game development and design than the others. It is harder to get them to do creative activities and you kind of have to get them excited about things like touring the Multi-Media studio. The last group couldn't wait for that.

I am noticing that I really have to keep the activities coming. They are always ready for the next thing on the agenda. They will do small tasks but long things really weigh them down. Our young one who is 10, has trouble staying focused but he does have great opinions and will do what I ask just takes him longer. Another one zones out a lot and needs a push but also does the work. The other two get stuff done, one with good insight and the other kind of just does the minimum.

So, they do well with smaller projects and they just aren't as interested in things other kids have been. It will be interesting to see how the sessions compare.
