Video iPod observation
The kids did anticipate that they were going to be working with ipods. They were excited when they received the iPods. Initially they commented on the colors of the skins on the ipods. White or clear was not a well received color and one student would have preferred that there wasn't a skin. The last 10-15 minutes of the session were spent exploring the iPod's and their contents. There was a definite cool factor during that time and being able to check out the features and capabilities kept them intrigued. Being able to use the preloaded content on the iPods helped make that process easier to understand while giving them ideas of what type of content may be used on the iPods. The videos seem to be the items that most of the students navigated to spending time watching them. They did check for music and commented on not having music available. Each student spent a brief amount of time exploring all the contents stopping at the what they viewed as interesting or if other students suggested something. Otherwise, I did feel that they would probably continue to explore until they viewed all the content and would obviously spend time on content they were interested in and bypass the content they didn't like.
