Learning Games Lab Think Tank Blog

This is the online diary for our three week Games Lab Think Tank... It is a private blog... which means we can use names of kids in it.

Goals for this 3-week think tank

As a group, we outlined many goals for the overall games lab project. For this three week session, I'll be happy if we can:
-- practice doing this. Identify ideal number of kids, how to place furniture, work out issues like consent and bathroom breaks and food, etc.
-- design a preliminary protocol for formative evaluation. If an outside game developer hires us to do formative (for example, try out title, character or storyboard ideas), how do we gather data, document the data gathering process, and summarize data in a usable way.

Other issues for down the way can include other types of assessment strategy development. I'd like to see a protocol established for game play observation (person in the room or videotape, for example), summative knowledge gain, interface and usability testing, etc.
