Beginning Game Design Process

It's been a challenge to find activities for the kids to be engaged in that aren't game play. I think the kids feel like there is playing games, then (awwww man!) boring activities that take them away from playing games (like evaluating and talking).

We also want to start them in the process of designing games. Today we are going to start that two-day process. Today, they will take an hour to design a game to help 3rd grade students learn/practice their multiplication tables. At the end of the one hour, they should have a list of game ideas or more specifics on any one game. We're going to break them up boys/girls. Tomorrow, they will pick one game and storyboard it.

We are going to start with the game design activity, then let them play games.
